  • The Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) is an evolving online research created by the Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole that catalogues information on species all over the world. Entries exist for multiple reading levels, from elementary to graduate student.
  • Access Excellence contains lesson plans on a range of biology subjects.
  • Science4Kids.com/Science3Discover contains science and biotechnology resources that are useful for students, parents, and teachers.
  • The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) site allows you to search for academic publications, DNA sequences, and protein sequences. Students can use a feature called BLAST to enter a particular DNA sequence and the database will retrieve the organisms with the closest matches.
Marine Biology
  • The NOAA Ocean Explorer site is a great environmental science resource, particularly for ocean exploration and marine biology. Links to lesson plans, webinars, and other resources for educators can be found therein. < /li>
  • Venturedeepocean.org. has some great diagrams and explanations of natural phenomena, such as volcanoes and undersea vents, as well as clearly presented information on deep sea expeditions.
